What is Campaign 1776?
Campaign 1776 is the Civil War Trust’s national initiative to foster the protection, preservation and interpretation of battlefields from the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812. We seek to tell the stories of the citizen soldiers who faced adversity and ultimately victory in securing and confirming American Independence, from the fields of the Lexington Green to the shores of the New Orleans. These acres of land are living memorials to these Patriots and provide a unique outdoor classroom for current and future generations.
